Virkon Aquatic

Virkon Aquatic is without doubt the best aquatic disinfectant available. Kills all common bacteria and is effective against many viruses and fungi as well. The No 1 disinfectant of choice, very low toxicity, stable and long lasting in water, can be used at all temperatures. Approved by DEFRA for all major animal as well as aquatic disease control. Can be used as a foot dip, in spray form to disinfect equipment, fish houses, bowls and nets as well as directly in the pond. Ponds can safely be re treated on a weekly basis throughout any bacterial disease outbreak without harming Koi or filter bio mass. We cant say enough good things about this excellent product. It does what it says on the tin!

Dose: - Powder form 2 - 10 grammes treats 220 gallons. Handy tablet form allows accurate dosing without the need for weighing. Each tablet is 5 grams. Effective at temperatures down to 4 deg C. Dose is dependent on water hardness. See more information for details

Koi Clear Ozonated Gel

This revolutionary and brand new topical treatment really is the best thing we have come across for years. It is a blend of completely natural vegetable oils which have been infused with ozone. The ozone turns the oils into a gel which looks and feels a little like Vaseline or Orabase cream which adheres well when applied. We all know how effective ozone is at killing bacteria, fungi and viruses, but ozone dissipates in minutes so has not been a practical proposition to add to a topical treatment before now. However, the Japanese (who else ! ) have come up with a clever way of blending ozone in the chosen oils so that it stays effective pretty much indefinitely.

Simply dry and clean the wound or damaged area to be treated and apply the gel liberally to the area and be amazed !

Melafix

MELAFIX is an all-natural antibacterial treatment that works to treat infections in fish. Common bacterial infections are open wounds and abrasions, tail rot, eye cloud, and mouth fungus. MELAFIX also promotes regrowth of damaged fins and tissue. Product may be used when adding new fish to a pond - particularly to smooth the transition between ponds - and if an infection is suspected, but not yet diagnosed. Some fish bought in pet stores are already carrying diseases at the time of purchase, which may be difficult to detect in its early stages. MELAFIX will not adversely affect the biological filter, alter the pH, or discolour water.

Melafix should be used at the rate of 25ml per 1000 litres every day for seven days. Switch off UV and ozozne systems during treatment and carry out a 20 - 25% water change at the end of the treatment. Some foaming of the water is normal during treatment.

480ml treats 2000 litres over a weeeks treatment, 1.9 Litre treats 8000 litres.

Nijo Lacto Remedy

Nijo Lacto formulae is a new generation of lactic acid bacteria. Nijo Lacto remedy has purposefully been developed and tested for use in ponds housing cold water fish. Nijo Lacto Remedy contains several strains of lactic acid bacteria which produce enzymes. These enzymes are responsible for the breakdown of proteins and peptides that are found in organic waste produced by the fish and other organics. By competing with the pathogenic bacteria that can cause fish disease, the lactic acid bacteria consume all available food source used by these bacteria which means the levels of pathogenic bacteria fall rapidly. This simply helps prevent all types of bacterial disease from developing and will aid recovery of infected fish after treatments.

Use 225ml per 4,540l (1000gal) of water. For best results mix the recommended amount for your pond and mix with 5lt of pond water and 10lt of warm tap water and leave for 5 minutes and then pour evenly around the pond. For bad bacterial infections, it is recommended to double the dose and repeat every two weeks until the problems have been eliminated. For best results this treatment can be used from 7c water temperature and repeated monthly. During treatment switch off UV's and/or any ozone equipment.

Microbe Lift Thera P

Microbe lift TheraP is a non-chemical probiotic product and will reduce the population of pathogenic bacteria in the pond environment by rapidly removing their food source by decomposition. The added major benefit of any truly probiotic product, is that it also boosts the immune system of pond fish.

Added to these two important benefits, Thera P also speeds up and enables more rapid healing of skin and tissue damage after either a physical injury or as a result of damage caused by ulceration. This avoids the need in most cases for catching the affected fish to treat individually and we have found the results after using Thera P to be consistently very good.

It also directly helps to break down toxic Ammonia and Nitrite , and therefore assists with the maturation of the pond filter. It speeds up the decomposition of sludge and other organic materials in the pond which can otherwise provide a breeding ground for pathogenic bacteria. Thera P is a culture of aerobic, facultative anerobes, plus photsynthetic and chemosynthetic organisms and is in fact a complete pond eco system in a bottle!

Fluke "S"

Fluke-Solve Plus is the result of in-depth research by veterinary fish experts who have recognised the need for ornamental fish keepers to have access to high quality veterinary pharmaceutical products which are both safe and effective.

Lice Solve

Lice-solve is a specially developed unique formulation containing emamectin for the treatment of external parasites such as Argulus (fish lice) and Ergasilus (gill maggot) in ornamental fish including Koi. Emamectin was originally developed for the control of sea lice in farmed salmonids by oral administration. Lice-solve has been specifically developed for the hobbyist, and its easy-to-use formulation means that fish can be treated by immersion in the product. It can be used directly into the pond or tank where the fish are kept, or fish can be moved into a separate treatment tank for the treatment period. Make sure that the water is well oxygenated during treatment.

Tamodine

Tamodine is a special form of Iodine used to clean and topically treat wounds on Koi. Will destroy bacteria present in wounds and assist with rapid healing. Use with a sealer such as Propolis (below) and may be used with other topical treatments such as our Koi Clear Gel (above). Anaesthetise the Koi in the normal way, dry the affected area and apply with a cotton bud or similar.

Evolution Aqua Wound Cleanser

Evolution Aqua Wound Cleanser is designed to clean and disinfect wounds on Koi. Will destroy bacteria present in wounds and assist with rapid healing. Use with a sealer such as Propolis (below) and may be used with other topical treatments such as our Koi Clear Gel (above). Anaesthetise the Koi in the normal way, dry the affected area and apply with a cotton bud or cotton wool pad (supplied) or similar. Active ingredient Benzalkonium Chloride

Potassium Permanganate

Potassium Permanganate is an effective bactericide and is also effective against a range of parasites, notably Trichodina , Chilodonella and Costia . Also effective against Flukes. For powder form use at 1.5 - 2 grammes treats 220 gallons. Use at any temperature

Chloramine T

Chloramine T is an oxidising agent which is an effective disinfectant and is also effective against a range of parasites. For powder form use at 1.5 - 2 grammes treats 220 gallons. Recommended for use above 12 deg C

Pond Medic Malachite Green

Pond Medic Malachite Green is a 1% solution which is an excellent fungicide, and is also used in conjunction with Formalin (below) to create an effective parasite treatment. Effective against White Spot and other Protozan parasites. Dose 10ml per 200 gallons (900 litres) - repeat after 5-7 days and always use as recommended by manufacturer. Effective at temperatures of 12.5 deg C (54 deg F) and above.

Pond Medic Formalin

Pond Medic Formalin is a 1% solution and is an effective bactericide and when used in conjunction with Malachite Green forms an effective parasite treatment. Does 10ml per 150 gallons (680 litres). Repeat after 5 - 7 days and always use as recommended by manufacturer. Should not be used with Salt at more than 1/2 oz per gallon. Use only with Malachite Green. Effective at temperatures of 12.5 deg C (54 deg F) and above.

Pond Medic Acriflavine

Pond Medic Acriflavine is 1% solution of this chemical and is a good bactericide, used to lower bacteria count and to treat external bacterial infections, ulcers and open wounds. May be repeated every seven days. Use as directed by manufacturer. Also excellent parasite treatment when used at high strength and in conjunction with salt against some parasites, notably Whitespot and other Protozoa. Effective at temperatures of 12.5 deg C (54 deg F) and above.

Evolution Aqua Malachite Green

Evolution Aqua Malachite Green is a stronger 2% solution which is an excellent fungicide, and is also used in conjunction with Formalin (below) to create an effective parasite treatment. Effective against White Spot and other Protozan parasites. Dose 20ml per 775 gallons (3520 litres) - repeat after 5-7 days and always use as recommended by manufacturer. Effective at temperatures of 12.5 deg C (54 deg F) and above.

Evolution Aqua Formalin

Evolution Aqua Formalin is a stronger 2% solution and is an effective bactericide and when used in conjunction with Malachite Green forms an effective parasite treatment. Does 20ml per 572 gallons (2600 litres). Repeat after 5 - 7 days and always use as recommended by manufacturer. Should not be used with Salt at more than 1/2 oz per gallon. Use only with Malachite Green. Effective at temperatures of 12.5 deg C (54 deg F) and above.

Evolution Aqua Acriflavine

Evolution Aqua Acriflavine is stronger 2% solution of this chemical and is a good bactericide, used to lower bacteria count and to treat external bacterial infections, ulcers and open wounds. May be repeated every seven days. Use as directed by manufacturer. Also excellent parasite treatment when used at high strength and in conjunction with salt against some parasites, notably Whitespot and other Protozoa. Dose 20ml per 352 gallons (1600 litres) Repeat after 5 - 7 days. Effective at temperatures of 12.5 deg C (54 deg F) and above.

Colombo Lernex-Pro

Lernex-Pro has been developed to target Macro parasites, including both skin and Gill flukes. Lernex-Pro contains high-quality anti-fluke agents, such as Nitroscanate and Flubendazole, to which resistance has not yet been built up. Lernex-Pro is therefore effective in the treatment of resistant skin flukes (Gyrodactylus) and gill flukes (Dactylogyrus). The presence of these parasites can only be determined under the microscope. Symptoms of infection with these parasites include listlessness, flashing, colour changes to the skin, and decreased appetite.

Colombo Alparex

Colombo Alparex is an excellent anti parasite treatment designed to tackle Protozan parasites, White spot (Ichyophthirius multifilis), Costia, Trichodena and Chillodonella. Use as directed by manufacturer. Will also help with fungal infections. Excellent when used in conjunction with salt.

Dosage: Colombo Alparex has to be administered in two steps. Day 1: 25ml per 1000 litres of pond water. Day 2: 25ml per 1000 litres of pond water. Always test the KH of your pond before treatment which should be at least 5° DH (German Degrees of hardness) or 90 mg/l calcium salts.

Colombo Alparex 1000 ml will treat a 20000 Ltr pond. (4400 Gallons)

Kusuri Sedate

Used to keep koi calm and sedated when topically treating, inspecting or taking skin scrapes.
